another day other page

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2

I often think about every empty promise spoken in religion's name that I believed before coming into the truth of Jesus Christ and what He means for those reconciled unto God. The winds of deception have been masqueraded as change.  Homosexual and liberal influence have crept in like a plague under the guise of acceptance, all in an effort to make Christ more accommodating to the changes we are witnessing - as if Yahweh is respecter of persons. We live in a society that is conforming God to our sinful fallen likeness, and certainly not the other way around. But the truth of our times and the Day of the Lord is neither substantiated by debate or the might of man, but by God's will alone coming as the Sword of Truth, for it has already been spoken. I take great comfort in the times when the overwhelming chaos of this world and all that it is fades with a simple fact: GOD IS SOVEREIGN.  The One who began our story sees it to completion, gracefully written and beautifully so in the many seasons of our lives. There are so many things I wish I could take back, because they take me back to those times I failed without reason or purpose. And again, I become drawn like a fish in a net to Romans 8:28 over and over again. That scripture is my favorite and recalls the story of Jesus in my own life. It guides me to visualize His perfect will, and reminds me this life is not, and never was mine. We are God's work to sound bold declaration to this world. He is coming to save - He is coming to judge.

In Christ Jesus, our transformation begins in our minds and hearts in unison; an orchestrated purpose beginning when we know that what we have heard is not just right; it is true and without dispute. It is a witness unto itself. Accountability begins in these moments of realizing God is acting individually in our life. His testimony in a life IS the foundation of His church collectively.  Vessels we are, formerly clay, molded in His will by the very hands that shape our faith and guide our heart. Today, protecting our minds against the lies and deception in and of this world is all the more imperative. The ruler of the air of this world is after what we think, feel, hear and see. Keep your eyes fixed upon Jesus. Your story has already been written, your deliverance is at hand. Now is not the time to be quiet about all He is. Take your light to the hilltop and season this world with salt.

Our thoughts become the engine to our seeds of motivation. In this know that the deceiver is after what we think, altering how we feel and consequently, what we believe.  Yet again, I am inclined to abandon what I believe and hand this notion over to Who I believe in, for He is the author of this story that builds faith that cannot be shaken.  I dwell upon the book of Acts many times, trying to place myself among the sand and rocky hills 2000 years ago when all they had, was The Word . The powerful displays of faith by the faithful in Christ Jesus long before a bible was written or a church was built is so remarkable and notable in a time where faith is difficult to find. It was supernatural, and not of this world. These warriors changed the world, and it was and still is Christ Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit that totally rocked the Roman ruled era to its desolation. As the temple in Jerusalem was being left destroyed, a new creation was being built forever. It was and is the temple within ourselves, and that being the very presence and perfection of God within us. His residence within makes us nomads in a land built upon lies and treachery, constantly seeking His tent as our covering. Nothing more is needed, nothing less will do.

Every day, a new page is written in our life. I wonder what level of control I am giving to the penman of my journey? What things within my heart need exposed and absolved by His hands? What things am I willing to leave behind in order to allow His authority to guide this man?  I pray earnestly, to be nameless and faceless and selfless to this world, and let Him be the many things I simply cannot be or do without Him. May the story of our lives be, His story in our life.
